About Wolfert Brederode
Dutch pianist Wolfert Brederode crafts elegant, melodic pieces, often in collaboration with other artists on ECM Records. Born in 1974, he studied classical and jazz piano at The Royal Conservatory of The Hague. He took up composing in 1996, releasing his debut album, Alternate Views, the following year. He further cemented his talents through a close collaboration with singer Susanne Abbuehl, working on all her ECM discs and some of the music for her debut album, 2001's April, and its follow-up, 2006's Compass.
