About Noel Cassidy
b. 31 Dec 1954 - Co.Longford, Ireland. Noel was born in Co. Longford in 1954. In his youth he was greatly influenced by American Country Star Buck Owens & Irish Artists Big Tom & Gene Stuart. After 5 years working in Manchester 1969-74, he returned to Ireland and fronted a band “Noel Cassidy & the Wagonmasters”and set up a popular local radio station called LCR Radio. Buoyed by the bands popularity in the Midlands and West of Ireland and from superb airplay and sales success of a Cassette Tape he recorded, he assembled a 5 piece band in 1987 and went professional.
