The Rebels powstało w roku 1987 w Białymstoku. Zaczęło się od spotkania paru osób zafascynowanych roots reggae i filozofią rasta. Zaistniała potrzeba, aby wyrazić to w dżwiękach. Na początku były próby i lokalne koncerty. W latach 90-tych zespół zagrał na kilku festiwalach reggae m.in Africa is Hungry, Reggae Christmas, Marleyki itp. Były też różne koncerty klubowe i plenerowe w Białymstoku oraz innych miastach w Polsce. Jedyne wydawnictwo to kaseta Every Day, nagrana w 1994 r. W 2000 roku zespół zakończył działalność.
