Mattie Safer is a musical icon who gave it up to follow a new sound and vision. The former singer, songwriter, and bass player for The Rapture left the band at the height of their powers in 2009 to write and record music under his own name. Inspired by a working relationship with mega-producer Paul Epworth (Adele, Florence + The Machine), Safer decided to "stop worrying about being cool" and pursued a sound that could properly display his powerful-yet-smooth vocal prowess and unique, soulful songwriting sensibility.
