Essentially the solo vehicle for producer-songwriter Jackson Phillips, Day Wave makes atmospheric, new wave influenced synth and guitar-based pop. Phillips is known for his yearning, often melancholic songs that combine the immediacy of lo-fi bedroom productions with the sonically blurred colorations of noise pop and indie rock. In 2015 Phillips self-released Day Wave's debut EP, Headcase, featuring the song “Drag”. He returned the next year with Day Wave's second EP, Hard To Read.
