appleby [apple-bee] started releasing music in 2014, specifically drawing inspiration from The Weeknd. Initially, he kept his identity a secret. Within a few months he landed a daily discovery article on Pigeons & Planes. After a second post on P&P, a Maxim editor reached out to do a story on him for print in spring/summer 2015. That year, appleby had his first breakthrough soundcloud song "Bitter Boy" that peaked at #2 on Billboard Emerging Artists Chart.
