Named after the 1989 earthquake that devastated Northern California, Bay Area band Loma Prieta craft a hardcore sound that straddles the line between melodic and uncomfortable as it merges styles like screamo and powerviolence into a potent blend. While grinding on the D.I.Y. circuit, playing self-booked gigs and crashing at fans' homes, they released their full-length debut, Last City, in 2008.
