Redondo Beat hails from Gelnhausen, a small German town that housed the Monks during their time as American G.I.s in the 1960s. Taking inspiration from that group, as well as American traditions like doo wop, girl group pop, and garage rock, Redondo Beat began releasing stylishly retro albums in the early 2000s, beginning with 2002’s Les Enfants Garagesques.
