Jay-One is from North Lauderdale, Fl. He is known for his Controversial lyricism and and soulful originality. He began writing songs and recording them from a karaoke machine on to cassette tapes when he was 12. He interned at Power 96 radio station in High School working with Teddy T and Lucy Lopez. In 2012, he graduated AIU with a Bachelors in Media Production. After college, he struggled to find work in his field so he created his own Record Label, Jay91 Records.
