Norwegian multifaceted artist Andre Borgen started out as a drummer in junior high school and he soon switched to guitar and vocals in the band Yoreyolk, a trio that were inspired by Sonic Youth, Pavement, Polvo, God Machine and the likes. Locally in the small town of Heddal there wasn’t much of a scene except for a few “grunge” and skate punk bands, and Yoreyolk played a more weird or arty kind of rock with loose structure and alternate tunings.
