Formed in 2009 by Steven Reker and Luke Fasano (of Yeasayer), People Get Ready began as a project conceived by the pair as a way to merge the worlds of contemporary dance performance and indie rock. Based out of New York City, the pair initially cut their teeth with a series of performances based on material Reker had written during his time spent touring as a live guitarist for David Byrne.
