La Lionetta, an acoustic folk band from Turin, Piedmont, Italy, was formed in 1977. The group initially gained traction with their debut album Danze e ballate dell'area celtica italiana and followed by Il gioco del diavolo. These early works established La Lionetta as a player in the European folk festival circuit, performing at major events such as those in Nyon, Salzburg, and Murienne. The band disbanded in 1987 but reunited years later with some original members and new additions.
