Leicester-born rapper Strizzy Strauss began his musical journey exploring his parents' music collection, particularly drawn to the early American Hip Hop his father listened to. Growing up in the UK Garage era and observing the sound of rapping in a British accent becoming the norm was something that resonated with him. Witnessing the local success of peers and the commercial rise of UK Hip Hop/Grime on platforms such as Channel U and MTV Base inspired Strizzy to start writing his own lyrics.
