Ameris was born and raised in Boston, MA. She comes from a musical family and started as a drummer in church at the age of 6. Later she discovered her love for singing at the start of her pre-teen years. She continued to pursue music throughout high school in the concert band, and later in college she joined different vocalist groups. She became a worship leader in her church at the age of 19, and soon after explored writing her own music.
