Derrick Davis Aka Derrick Phoenix was born in Chicago on October 18th 1996. He did not begin learning piano until he was 7 years of age. Keith Austin introduced Derrick to mimicking what he could hear and see. After a few years Derrick’s father Will Davis sent Derrick to Columbia College while he was in 8th grade. On the weekends Derrick was taught by professional pianists and composers who shaped the way he views music today.
