Described as a mix of progressive rock and post hardcore, Hokkaido’s anthemic tunes hit hard, both in the studio and on the stage. Their live shows have been described as ‘engaging and energetic’, driven by the powerhouse rhythm section of Shaun Broady (bass) and Eric Upton (drums), and consolidated with the melodic stylings of Kieran Broady (guitar, lead vocals) and Pat Ortiz (guitar, backup vocals). The band draws influences from a wide array of bands including Deftones, Thrice and Refused, embodying the volcanic highs and arctic lows of the eponymous island the band is named after.
