Not unlike many other artistic endeavors, Death By Lions was formed during the pandemic by Wes Keely and Brian Geurin. While both had been playing in the punk rock outfit Old Fire, they wanted to incorporate their shared love of late 90's post hardcore. Their similar taste developed while playing in different bands at the time (Wes - Earthmover and Walls of Jericho & Brian in Subsist) and while having shared the same stages during the midwest hardcore movement in the late 90's early 2000's.
