Now renamed as Secnd Self, S/E/L/F first made a name for themselves back in 2000 when they released the EP [Thump] applauded by critics who dubbed the band "the future of French Trip Hop". S/E/L/F is a French electro act formed by schoolmates Remky (synths, programming, vocals) and Vii-Pii (guitars, programming, backing vocals), and fronted by guest female lead vocalists. The band name S/E/L/F is an acrynom for "Subtle Electro Lo Fi" as band members describe their typical style: a French breed of Trip Hop reminiscent of Archive, Portishead and Massive Attack.
