Emrah Gökmen (*1988 in Tunceli/Türkiye) is a musician who has been based in Berlin for the past 16 years. He moved to Istanbul in 2006 to study music at the conservatory department of the Müjdat Gezen Art Center, later continuing his education in Berlin from 2009 onward. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Berlin University of the Arts. Renowned for his social awareness, Emrah Gökmen draws inspiration from cultural folk traditions, specializing on Turkish and Kurdish folk songs.
