Don't Feed The Peacocks met as a result of the EFDSS's (English Folk Dance and Song Society) formation of the National Youth Folk Ensemble led by Artistic Director and Ex-Bellowhead member Sam Sweeney. As a result they are heavily inspired by the work of many great musicians on the English folk scene such as: Andy Cutting, Rob Harbron and Miranda Rutter. They also take inspiration from Celtic nations after their time visiting Scotland, Ireland and Wales on courses such as Alasdair Fraser's Fiddle and Cello camp.
