Consisting of core members Zach Hill (drums) and Spencer Seim (guitar), the California-based noise-rock act Hella specializes in a whiplash-inducing fusion of prog-rock and hardcore. HOLD YOUR HORSE IS (2002) put the ensemble on the indie map, and the restless group followed with a slew of releases, many of them willfully eccentric, oddly named EPs such as BITCHES AIN’T SHIT BUT GOOD PEOPLE and CONCENTRATION FACE/HOMEBOY.
