San Francisco's Gum Tree Girls take their eponymous name from a 1960's grassroots women's organization that fought to save their beloved Glen Canyon from a freeway project. The band's brash and satirical take on feminism and ecology mixes with a punk & post-punk garage rock sound that threatens to shake City Hall once again. Celebratory and menacing at the same time, this is a girl group for the raging age of now. The GTGs are Allison Aspen, Helene Hawthorn, Suzi Spruce, Stacey Sequoia, Tammy Timber
