Born in 1980 in Istanbul, Kağan Yıldız started his first music lessons with his uncle, Orhan Akıncı, who was a music teacher. After he was admitted to contrabass department of State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan University in 1991, he continued his study with Asst. Prof. Engin Babahan. Yıldız, who was a member of Istanbul State Symphony Orchestrate during his student years, decided to continue his work in jazz music after his graduation in 2002 and shared the same stage with leading figures of Turkey.
