Greek oudist and composer Thomas Meleteas (b. 1993) emerged from the bustling music scene of Athens in the early 2010s, at first playing with various rock and folk bands, before focusing on combining the modal musical traditions of Greece and the Mediterranean with contemporary influences into a unique blend of new music. His genre-crossing artistic vision is depicted in his three main studio albums: Nestinari (2019), Shapeshifting Wizards (2021), Plexoudes (2023) as well as in a multitude of singles, EPs, side projects and collaborations.
