Specializing in country music with a vintage Americana feel, Kurtis James came onto the local music scene in early 2019. A native of central Minnesota, Kurtis comes to Illinois after a stint in the US Navy saw him reside variously in Florida, Virginia, and California. Influenced by the great country and rockabilly acts of the mid-twentieth century, Kurtis' songwriting is down-to-earth country, with grit, emotion and relatability.
