Harel Shachal, an accomplished musician, composer, and clarinetist, is a leading figure in the global Jazz-Middle Eastern music scene. His mastery of traditional Middle Eastern music (Makam/Maqam) combined with his deep knowledge of Jazz has shaped his unique artistic approach, showcased through his oriental clarinet performances. In 2002, Shachal joined the faculty of the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music (NY), where he founded the Mid-East Ensemble and directed the World Music Ensemble.
