Jimsaku, a Japanese drum and bass duo consisting of Akira Jimbo and Tetsuo Sakurai, was formed in 1990 after both members left the jazz/fusion band Casiopea. The name Jimsaku is a portmanteau of their last names. Their early discography was influenced by Latin/Samba music due to Sakurai's trip to Brazil. The duo released their debut album Jimsaku in 1990, followed by 45°C (1991), Jade (1992), and the live album Viva! (1992).
