The Flipbirds first came together in Los Angeles in the early nineties. After a fruitless period of auditioning lead singers, the thought of taking on the task themselves started to grow. Eventually the vocals came to be shared between basist Johan Löf and guitarist Daniel Karlsten, resulting in their first release The Pak in 1997. By this time, they had relocated to Stockholm where, in 2000 and after having played club dates for a while, the band split up. Life – as is often the case – had come between.
