Bex D and John A met in a bluegrass band in 2016, a chance meeting considering neither were into bluegrass. After multiple attempts to punk up the ‘Bristol Dollar Johnny Possum Band’, they tunnelled their way out of the genre, escaping in 2018 to form hard-rocking Hypnumb after meeting guitarist Sam in a Selwyn open mic night. They immediately formed MudBelly on realising just how bad a name Hypnumb was. With MudBelly it’s messy, wild and heavy.
