Kero Uno is a musician from California’s Bay Area who fell in love with hiphop, vintage jazz, soul, and electronic from a young age. Formerly known as Kero One for most of his career, he built a reputation as a triple-threat rapper, producer, and DJ, known for reviving the jazz hip-hop and lo-fi sound when very few were doing it. In 2003, Kero released his self-produced single “Check the Blueprints,” which quickly gained underground popularity in Japan and even caught the attention of the then little-known Nujabes.
