Having grown up on the west side of Cleveland within a mixed family Kwas-E sees life from many different perspectives. With an immigrant father from Durban, South Africa and a mother from Lorain, Ohio he takes the cultural insight from both sides of his family tree and instills it into his craft. Due to behavioral issues at a young age in school and at home, kwas would be sent to stay with his grandmother in the suburbs on weekends and this is where he fell in love with various classic records from the 1970’s and before.
