Ros Serey Sothea was a Cambodian singer. She began her music career with the national radio service in Phnom Penh, where she adopted her stage name. Sothea collaborated with leading artists such as Sinn Sisamouth and Sos Mat, recording numerous duets as well as solo works across several genres. She was honored by Norodom Sihanouk with the title Preah Reich Theany Somlang Meas (“Queen with the Golden Voice”). Her career continued through the Cambodian Civil War until the fall of Phnom Penh in April 1975, after which she disappeared during the Khmer Rouge genocide. Her legacy has endured thro...
