With a sonic palette intersecting Indie and Blues-Grunge, The Mayblues have been intent on carving out a sound uniquely their own--the distorted apathy of Nirvana, the sultry Indie Rock sounds of the Arctic Monkeys, and the hopeless romanticism of Chet Baker. Based in Los Angeles, the band plays live as a trio and is fronted by singer and guitarist, Chris Im, who writes all the music, lyrics, and masterminds the brand. Im was born in Seoul, South Korea, and immigrated to the States at an early age. His upbringing in Virginia left much to be desired and often felt alienated and unaccepted. ...
