The Dark Flowers were formed by songwriter/producer Paul Statham ( Dido, Peter Murphy, Simple Minds and B-Movie) after reading Sam Shepards book of prose/poetry 'Motel Chronicles', about the American Mid West and the strange characters that inhabit those desert towns and old motels, whilst listening to the 1973 soundtrack album 'The Hired Hand' by Bruce Langhorne. With a desire to combine the 2 influences he sent pages of the book and his own eerie desert soundscapes to artists that he had been co writing with over many years including Simple Minds Jim Kerr, ex Bauhaus and ...
