As a teenager I would play improvisations and hymns for my Grandmother, Ruth Gwin. We just called her "Grand." I have always loved the hymns and songs of the church which were an important part of our family culture and it wasn’t until many years later that I decided to share those arrangements with the world. Through the years, I have tried to meld and synthesize many of the melodies and techniques found in the piano music of Chopin, Brahms, and Debussy into my musical creations.
