Ranchera singer Erasmo Catarino Gonzalez Delgado was born in Xalpaltlahuac, Guerrero, Mexico, on November 25, 1977. Born to Nahuatl parents, and in a region where the native Mexican culture and language are still prevalent, from an early age Erasmo strongly identified with his heritage. He earned a degree in primary education in Puebla, Mexico, and returned to his town of origin to teach second grade in a school for Nahuatl children.
