El Maestro, whose real name is Moustapha Diop, was born in Yoff on July 11, 1986, 4 years later, his father assigned to Diourbel, a region in central Senegal. In 1993 Maestro enrolled in Keur Serigne Mbaye Sarr primary school but it was in 1997 that he became a Rapper thanks to his childhood friend Stefane Kabou. In 2001 he released his first single ego trip with Kporal one of the Diourbelois rappers it was at the CEM Grand Diourbel college.
