I am Yokishsalmos, or simply Salmos, but around here, young people call me "Jahly". Born in Angola amidst war and loss, I grew up surrounded by hardship. Music has always been my refuge, from the beat of traditional Angolan percussion to the modern kizomba sound and American pop, soul, and R&B. At a young age, I had to leave my country for Europe, where I discovered reggae and began singing along to Bob Marley's songs. Inspired by artists like Steel Pulse, Burning Spear, and many more, I found a music rooted in the joy of living and the pleasure of loving. Arriving in France in 2005...
