I took an interest in my dad's accordion around the age of 4 and spent much of my childhood in Canada growing up around waltzes, polkas, tangos, foxtrots, and live Finnish folk music. I played my first concert at age 6, launched my first band at age 7, and studied with Iona Reed Pukara (1962 World Accordion Champion) for nearly 15 years.
