Jiv Jago started in 2012 as an acoustic band performing mantras and bhajans in Bengali and Sanskrit, accompanied by hang drum, tampura, and mridanga. In 2013 they started working on the electronic-instrumental mantra project in the styles of ethnic electronica, world, ambient, trip-hop / downtempo. They are working on creating a new sound for bhajans and mantras, but carefully preserving the traditional Bengali tunes, and traditional temple instrument beats.
