Bat Boy Bankie, born Joshua White in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, creates music rooted in real life and raw experience. After his parents met in Atlanta, his mother struggled with addiction, leading him to be raised by her with the help of other family members in Cleveland from infancy. Though he wasn’t raised around his father, he spent summers visiting him and learned about his dad’s past as drug dealer and lead singer/manager of a band called Fahrenheit in the 80's & 90's, which became one of his early musical influences.
