Emergent from a series of compositional sketches by founding member Douglas W. Milliken (Ichabod Hate, Blind Pelican, Milk St. Peter & the Unknown Knowns), The Plaster Cramp quickly evolved into a sanctuary for the non-verbal expression of grief, nuanced and never simple, from the American brutality of the summer of 2020 to the witnessed deaths of loved ones, some very recent and others long past.
