Nobody expects a country rock band from Belgrade. That's the point. Backsprint started with American country records in a Serbian apartment — Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash — played by a father who never explained why the music mattered. Then Uroš Jojić moved to Saginaw, Michigan, graduated high school there, and heard the music in the place it came from. The accent stopped being foreign. The feeling never was.
