Prophets of Pop were a band based in sunny Folkestone on the south coast of England. School mates Scott Norman and Chris Legg formed it after an ultimately unsuccessful period on a development deal as teenagers with Miles Copeland’s IRS Records in the early 1990s. They released albums through their own label and for a period in the late 1990s it appeared they might just make it after signing a deal with legendary Nashville publishers Acuff Rose.
