John Joseph Powell, known professionally as John Powell JP, is an underground Hip-Hop artist, songwriter, and record producer. Raised in Augusta, Georgia, JP initially gained recognition as an artist following the release of his debut mixtape, KingsView, in early 2015. JP released an additional mixtape, Nice Guys Finish Last, the day he graduated in late 2018. JP’s rap career started in 2006 at the age of 12 when he wrote introspective poems about life, and love that he kept in several notebooks.
