Sobre The Host
The Host is an alias of Irish electronic musician Barry Lynn, who first became known during the mid-2000s for his releases on Planet Mu under the name Boxcutter. These recordings blended jagged breakbeats and glitches with the heavy sub-bass of grime and dubstep, and his style was often described as "breakstep." By the time of Boxcutter's fourth album, The Dissolve (2011), his sound had smoothed out a bit, embracing vintage synth-funk and disco influences, and dipping into tape-damaged chillwave.
