Alesha Lawson was born in Burlington, North Carolina. She professes that she began singing long before she could talk. She started singing and playing the piano in Temple of Prayer Church where her mother Sandra Lawson is the pastor. Alesha spent many of adolescent years singing with choral ensembles in both Middle and High School. She attended North Carolina Central University where she was a member of the “University Choir.” Lesha is no stranger to competition, singing “Summertime”, she became Triad Idol 2008 Runner up at the young age of Age 14.
