The Milk Factory was created by guitarist Edmund Lauret and pianist Thijs Troch, prominent representatives of the adventurous contemporary Ghent jazz scene (and both members of the highly acclaimed group, Nordmann). Those wishing to describe their music think of the ethereal atmosphere typical of the ECM Records, the touch of romantic folk and compositions that any singer-songwriter might dream of.
