Hailing from the Southside of Atlanta, Villa first gained attention in 2016, when he recorded 300 in 5 months while releasing a song a week for a whole year. To document his weekly progress Villa would do a livestream from Instagram every Sunday at 11:59, which he termed “Midnight Mass”. During Midnight Mass, Villa would preview new records to fans while keeping a count of his quest for 300 songs recorded.
