I grew up in a large family as the sixth of nine children. My mom struggled with cancer when I was a child, and my dad was very ill most of my life and passed away when I was a teenager. I was very shy and didn't feel heard among nine kids. I didn't know how to express the things I was feeling, so music became an outlet for me to be able to express my thoughts and feelings.
